my results from my first X ad

I recently used X Ads to promote a lead magnet I've had a lot of success with.

Here was the tweet I promoted:

Here are the stats from the promotion:

Now, here's the thing.

These stats aren't accurate, because I got 10-15 new followers and I know for sure that the engagements on this post were not all because I promoted this tweet.

Here's what I learned:

  1. I did NOT get high quality engagement from the ad. There were a ton of spam, RT, and even some explicit accounts that liked and RT'd this post (which I don't like).
  2. I had limited new followers and the quality of them, I'm not terribly confident with.
  3. I spent $50 and I don't think it's worth it.

All in all, I think X Ads has a long way to go.

So if you're thinking about using X Ads to promote your content and create high quality engagement, I'd experiment with small amounts of money to see if it works better for you than I.

If you had a different experience with X Ads (preferably a positive one), I'd love to hear about it.

Also, on an unrelated topic, while I'm a HUGE fan of X and it'll continue to be my primary platform, I just started using Taplio and will be leveraging it to increase my engagement on LI.

Hope you have an awesome Saturday!
