barefoot bicycle guy chasing a dog
|
I learned an important lesson a couple of days ago from....a guy chasing his dog, barefoot riding his bike. It was a cool, windy Saturday morning and I decided to take my dog on a walk while I was going to chat with a lady who was interested in generating more income. Well, 5 minutes into the Google Meet call, I realized she wasn't going to join (don't ever do this folks, it's incredibly rude to waste people's time), I put the phone into my pocket and let my irritation swirl in my head a bit. Walked for a while thinking about various things when all of a sudden, as I'm about to cross a fairly busy road, I see a guy wearing shorts and a t-shirt, barefoot in 45 degree windy weather. Looks like he just rolled outta bed. Something must be off. I look a little further left and see a tiny white dog he's chasing. I've had to chase down one of our animals before, I know it sucks and it's embarrassing to have others watch you fumble around trying to catch a pesky pet who's taking pure joy in escaping from you. I pulled out my airpod and asked the guy if he needed help and he desperately said yes. So instead of chasing the dog and pushing him away, I quickly thought about his dog and what most dogs like to do...they like to come up to other dogs, bark, sniff etc. So I calmly walked my dog near it and it slowly approached to start sniffing etc. While I had him distracted, the guy was able to come up and snatch him. Massive relief for the guy (albeit embarrassed, cold and tired). We laughed for a sec and he took off to get home. You see, when you're looking to achieve something, you don't blindly chase it, you slow down, put yourself in your ideal client's shoes and think about what they want. That way, everything you do is geared towards helping them, not you. The more you chase, the more you repel. The more you focus on them and what they want, the more you attract. This is one of the key pillars of identifying your $100k+ problem to solve and without it, well...you'll be chasing chasing chasing and pushing those key prospects away. โTo make sure you're not the barefooted bicycle guy, spend 60 minutes with me.โ -Matt Barron When you're ready, there's several ways I can help you:
